HIKE LEADER: Claudette Raymond
Claudette took the group to North Moat, sounds like it was interesting, here is her review:
Five speedy day hikers and one black lab, "Tessa", left the Attitash trail at 9:30 am. We hiked along,
talking about French toast, eggs, blueberry pancakes, etc. Needless to say, we were thinking too much
about breakfast and got lost in the woods within the first half-hour. We spread out and found the
trail; luckily it only set us back about 15 minutes. It was 80 degrees, humid, and partly sunny,
making it a tough climb.
Arrived at the peak watching, "Tessa", run around with Gatorade bottles.
We wolfed down our sandwiches and had chocolate candy bars for dessert. Four hours later, we had our
first contact with other hikers who were "running" the trail. We quickly descended the 6 miles down
and looped back to the end of the trail by 4:30 pm. (record time). Slightly overcast, but a beautiful
day for hiking as we didn't get a drop of rain. Finished the day with ice cream at The
Dam Ice Cream Shop.
